Fairfield High School is seeking to appoint a committed, enthusiastic inspirational Science Teacher to join a well-resourced department that has a relentless focus on raising achievement at GCSE.

Working to provide exceptional outcomes for pupils, the Science Faculty exceeded national averages in 2024 by attaining 100% 9-4 in Biology and Chemistry, and 95.7 % 9-4 in Physics. In combined Science 60.2% of the cohort achieved at least one grade 4.
You will be joining a forward thinking, innovative and highly successful faculty with a key focus on practical skills. We welcome applications from ECTs as well as those who may be returning to teaching, and with a stable team of highly experienced science teachers can offer an outstanding mentoring programme. With your own lab you would join a team of eight science teachers each serviced by three Science technicians. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate:
• The ability to teach science to at least GCSE level, including triple science.
• Strong classroom management skills
• Excellent organisational and ICT skills
• A high degree of initiative
• The ability to work independently as well as part of a faculty team
• The ability to motivate pupils and achieve excellent results
• The ability to teach computer science would be desirable
The successful candidate needs to be familiar with the GCSE course. Candidates must have a good degree in science and have QTS.
